Paris, TN – A locking mechanism made by Paris Elementary’s school resource officer Sgt. Eddie Crosser recently passed a Homeland Security inspection. Crosser wanted to create something that would add an extra level of security for everyone in their school. Crosser’s locking mechanism allows a teacher to go to the door, flip the lever and the door is locked from the inside. The Homeland Security agent said that these locks could easily be a model for other schools in Tennessee. Also, the Homeland security agent was impressed with the Paris Special School District’s level of security with the camera system being tied into the 911 dispatch, utilizing the Ident-A-Kid Visitor Management Software and the double locks at the schools.
