MILTON — The Milton Area School District may be the first in the Valley to try electronic registry.
Visitors sign in on a laptop in the school’s office and take their own photo from the webcam. The Ident-A-Kid Visitor Mangement software stores the visitor’s photo, so school officials can easily identify who’s in their schools. Milton Schools not only want to keep their students safe, they also want to know who still might be in district buildings if there is an emergency such as a fire. In addition, school officials can check this information with a remote device.
The district decided to try the program based on what Day and district network administrator Duane Gemberling knew of the program.
